Jean Stephane Grasset is the name of the new General Manager of Movenpick Resort & Spa Mauritius. He succeeds John Wood who is now responsible for Movenpick Resort & Spa El Gouna. Alain Chatel has left the resort on the Red Sea to lead the Movenpick Hotel & Resort Beirut. All General Managers took up their new positions at the beginning of September.
Coming from Santiburi Golf Resort & Spa in Koh Samui, Thailand, the French national Jean Stephane Grasset joins Movenpick Hotels & Resorts for the first time in the function of General Manager of the hotel group’s flagship in Mauritius. He has a great deal of experience in the upscale hotel business and, in addition to Thailand, has worked in Singapore, Cyprus, France and Mauritius in the past.
John Wood, responsible for Movenpick Resort & Spa Mauritius since October 2007, is the new General Manager in El Gouna – the “Little Venice on the Red Sea”. A dual national of Britain and Cyprus and graduate of the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, he has gained valuable experience in Cyprus, the Caribbean, UAE, India, Russia and Croatia.
In El Gouna he is replacing Alain Chatel who is now General Manager of Movenpick Hotel & Resort Beirut. The French national was responsible for the leading resort on the Red Sea since April 2006, having previously held various positions in ten different countries including Indonesia, Nigeria, Senegal and French Polynesia for Le Meridien and InterContinental.
Vicky is the co-founder of TravelDailyNews Media Network where she is the Editor-in Chief. She is also responsible for the daily operation and the financial policy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Business Administration from the Technical University of Athens and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales.
