MELBOURNE – GainingEdge celebrates its 9th anniversary on 7 Jan 2013 with the launch of its GainingConnections service, which is designed for convention bureaus.
Designed to keep its bureau subscribers connected through a small and intimate network, GainingConnections offers various business and knowledge opportunities and benefits. These include convention profiles, industry intelligence, an online library, discussion forums and advice clinics.
“This new service is in line with our corporate mission to help the international meetings industry to be even more successful. New and emerging bureaus will find our service especially useful,” explained Gary Grimmer, CEO of GainingEdge. “Through GainingConnections, bureaus – both young and established– can build up their own global peer networks and form mutually beneficial business relationships..”
The service which is subscription-based, launched for its first clients – Tourism Vancouver, Wonderful Copenhagen, Yokohama Convention & Visitors Bureau, VisitBerlin Convention Office, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau and Cotai Sands Macau.
GainingEdge started business as Gary Grimmer & Company in 2004, and today it has five offices around the world – in Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Paris, Phoenix and Porto Alegre. Its consultants have worked in various convention bureau capacities including the start-up of new bureaux, leading bureau bid teams, research and business development, on and off-site sales support and bureau team training.
Luc Citrinot a French national is a freelance journalist and consultant in tourism and air transport with over 20 years experience. Based in Paris and Bangkok, he works for various travel and air transport trade publications in Europe and Asia.
