Fox International and Tourism Malaysia go together for ecotourism promotion

This is Malaysia is a new partnership between Fox International channels and Tourism Malaysia for the promotion of eco-tourism. The event was announced during ITB Berlin by the Minister of Tourism, Dato' Seri Mohamed Nazri Bin Abdul Aziz.

BERLIN- FOX International Channels (FIC) is an international multi-media business. In Asia, FIC operates or distributes 37 channel brands, with over 100 feeds across 14 markets. As the leading pay-TV network in the region, FIC reaches more than 500 million cumulative subscribers across Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

One of its most established channels is National Geographic Channel (NGC). NGC inspires through its smart, innovative programming and never fails to enrich and impact viewers’ knowledge and understanding of the real world. The channel opens up a world of possibilities by exploring popular science, technology, natural history, archaeology, natural mysteries, wildlife and others. Backed by the National Geographic Society’s innumerable scientific research projects and expeditions, the award-winning channel has unparalleled access to ground-breaking explorations into the known and unknown.

FIC and NGC are extremely privileged to play a pivotal role in working with Tourism Malaysia over the years, to create quality programmes of international stature to share with viewers the amazing offerings in Malaysia.

2012 saw the production of an award-winning documentary called Malaysia from Below. This programme delved deep into another world, with famous English naturalist, Nick Baker, and the beautiful Alexandra Cousteau – bringing viewers into the rich Malaysian waters where thousands of species of spectacular creatures made this their home.
In 2013, we see Malaysian celebrity Chef Wan make a global entry into the culinary world. East Bites West, a 13- episode series, broadcasted regionally.  The flamboyant chef travels around Europe to persuade Westerners to shun processed food in favour of freshly prepared Malaysian dishes.

This year will reveal a brand new and exciting documentary that follows British Naturalist, Nick Baker hot on the trail of wildlife species in the Royal Belum-Temenggor forest. Called Nick Baker’s Eco Malaysia, it will provide viewers with an insightful wildlife adventure set right in the middle of Malaysia. Guided by researchers, environmentalists, and local villagers- the guardians of this special land, Nick will venture deep into the jungle to fulfill a lifelong dream: to track down the world’s rarest flora and fauna. He’ll find unique plant and animal species in and out of the forest; from the vibrant Lantern bug to one of the world’s largest Tapir species. He’ll trek through beautiful landscapes, hunt with ancient tribes people, sample local delicacies and get up close and personal with Malaysia’s oldest man; it’s a one of a kind eco adventure that will keep him (and audiences!) coming back for more.
The partnership between FOX International Channels and Tourism Malaysia looks to reach new heights.
