FlyersRights.org goes global with toll free hotline for stranded passengers

FlyersRights.org announced the expansion of its hotline from domestic service to international service. Flyers Rights toll free hotline has become an invaluable resource for airline passengers who have seen customer service nearly disappear from commercial air travel in the last 10 years. In addition to its hotline, the organization’s recently updated iPhone app is acclaimed as the number one application for air travelers who get stuck in any type of air travel nightmare, and who need to know their rights to compensation and other help from the airlines.

“Domestically we have received thousands of calls per year just in the continental US.  Now that we have opened up our toll-free, volunteer-staffed hotline to international service including Alaska and Hawaii, we can help all air travelers navigate the murky waters otherwise known as airline customer service,” says FlyersRights Founder and Executive Director Kate Hanni. “We are thrilled to offer help for all air travelers across the world who find themselves stranded, and don’t know their rights.

Whether it’s a volcano in Iceland, or a strike with Spirit airlines, our hotline stands ready, and has fielded nearly 30,000 complaints over the last 5.5 years of operation, continues Hanni. We are also able to report trends to the Department of Transportation Enforcement Division and provide the media with the many harrowing stories from passengers calling 1-877-359-3776.

Our iPhone app has become the most popular airline passenger application, and informs passengers of all of their newly-regulated rights including DOT rules and laws we’ve fought to get passed by Congress. It’s the most valuable 99 cents you will ever spend, and even includes a ‘tarmac timer’ that plays the theme from Jeopardy after three hours, notifying the flight crews that time is up, and they need to let you deplane.”
