Visit Florida, the official tourism-marketing corporation for the state of Florida, has signed up to take part in BITTM, the Beijing International Travel and Tourism Market, taking place April 3-5, 2006. BITTM offers international tourism organisations the chance meet Chinese travel professionals with a view to creating partnerships and international alliances. It is the only dedicated outbound travel event for the fastest growing travel market in the world – China.

China is the most exciting and promising new travel market in the world. Travel and tourism is still a relatively young industry, but it has become one of the most powerful and dynamic parts of the Chinese economy in the past few years with the total revenue of China` s tourism industry accounting for 5.44% of the GDP. Outbound departures from China have been growing by more than 25% each year. The market is predicted to grow to 100 million departures in 2020.

Florida is a major destination for tourists across the globe. With such a variety of attractions, including Disney World, the Everglades, great beaches, and fabulous weather year round, Florida is undoubtedly a place that Chinese holidaymakers will head for. By exhibiting at BITTM, Florida will ensure that Chinese travel agencies, tour operators and corporate buyers are fully aware of all Florida has to offer.

Eileen Forrow, Vice President of Sales, Visit Florida, said, along with some of Florida` s top tourism leaders, is delighted to be attending BITTM in 2006, in a show of support towards the travel professionals of China.

Bud Nocera, CEO of Visit Florida, said, Visit Florida recognizes China as one of Florida?s most promising future markets of visitor origin. Through research and Florida tourism industry input, we made the easy decision to attend BITTM to promote our unique destination to Chinese tour operators.

Karen Taylor, BITTM Project Director, said, I am delighted to welcome Visit Florida into BITTM. The potential within the Chinese outbound travel market is limitless, and I am sure Florida will hugely benefit from their presence at the show.
