First virtual gala edition of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore) reveals pioneering awardees 

In its 10th year, Singapore’s most prestigious real estate awards programme innovates with an inaugural virtual gala event and ceremonies, broadcast worldwide via AsiaPropertyAwards.com and partner channels.

SINGAPORE – PropertyGuru, Southeast Asia’s leading property technology company, announced on Friday (October 30) the pioneering crop of winners and highly commended awardees at the first virtual gala edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore).

The inaugural virtual gala event and awards ceremony, also known as the landmark 10th edition of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore), was broadcast on AsiaPropertyAwards.com and partner channels, including YouTube and Facebook. 

GuocoLand emerged victorious with top accolades that included Best Developer, the highest award of the night, and Best Condo Development (Singapore) for Wallich Residence. The exquisite residential project, housed in Singapore’s tallest building, also garnered the new title of Best Ultra Luxury Condo Development (Completed).

Cheng Hsing Yao, GuocoLand’s Group Managing Director, also accepted the Real Estate Personality of the Year award, the only accolade not chosen by the independent judging panel. The award is decided annually by the editors of PropertyGuru Property Report, the official magazine of the awards.

Under his commendable leadership, GuocoLand has served at the forefront of urban rejuvenation in Singapore – breathing life into the city’s underserved areas with high-concept developments and strategic placemaking projects.

UOL Group Limited, which won the Best Developer award last year, returned to clinch several awards for Avenue South Residence, its project with UIC Limited and Kheng Leong Company, as well as Clavon, its project with UIC Limited.         

Aurum Land (Private) Limited received the title of Best Boutique Developer this year, with the support of projects such as Nyon, which won Best Boutique Condo Development, and The Hyde, which won Best Boutique Condo Architectural Design. 

A pioneering roster of companies gained several titles that had never been presented before under the Developer categories: Bukit Sembawang Estates Limited (Best Landed Developer); GuocoLand (Best Mixed Use Developer); Macly Group (Best Breakthrough Developer); Soilbuild Group Holdings Ltd (Best Industrial Developer); Qingjian Realty (South Pacific) Group Pte Ltd (Best Residential Developer); and Wing Tai Asia (Best Lifestyle Developer).

A total of 18 projects received trophies and Highly Commended citations at the awards. One of the most nominated projects, Pullman Residences, Newton by EL Development (Horizon) Pte Ltd, won all four of its nominations, namely Best Luxury Condo Development, Best Luxury Condo Architectural Design, Best Luxury Condo Interior Design, and Best Luxury Condo Landscape Architectural Design.

Another highly nominated project, Forett at Bukit Timah by Qingjian Perennial (Bukit Timah) Pte Ltd, garnered the titles of Best Private Condo Development and Best Private Condo Landscape Architectural Design. Qingjian Realty (Marymount) Pte Ltd also won the new award of Best Sales Gallery Architectural Design for JadeScape.

Bukit Sembawang Estates Limited won one of the highest accolades of the night, Best Housing Development (Singapore), for its Luxus Hills Contemporary Collection project.

Soilbuild Group Holdings Ltd won Best Industrial Development, Best Industrial Smart Building Development, and Best Green Development for its Solaris @ Tai Seng project.

Wing Tai Asia added the wins of Best Residential Smart Building Development and Best Private Condo Interior Design for The M @ Middle Road project.

Other winning projects include Parkwood Collection by Fantasia (Park) Pte Ltd (Best Strata Housing Development) and The Woodleigh Residences by Kajima Development Pte. Ltd. and Singapore Press Holdings Ltd. (Best Integrated Development).

Around 40 awards were presented this year, including special prizes that were given to GuocoLand; Kajima Development Pte. Ltd. and Singapore Press Holdings Ltd.; Soilbuild Group Holdings Ltd; and UOL Group Limited in the fields of ESG, Sustainable Construction, Sustainable Design, and Building Communities.

Roger Loo, Executive Director, Management Consulting Services for BDO Singapore, and Zee Chang Teng, Christopher, Manager, Management Consulting Services for BDO Singapore, led supervisions for every stage of the judging process – upholding fairness and transparency in the selection of shortlisted nominees.
