Emirates upgrades aircraft on Ho Chi Minh City service

Emirates now flies to Ho Chi Minh City with its Boeing 777-300ER less than six months after launching the route out of Dubai. The airline follows the huge demand towards the Southern Vietnam metropolis.

DUBAI – Emirates on Sunday inaugurated its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on its Ho Chi Minh – Dubai route. Emirates started its daily, non-stop flights to Vietnam from Dubai on June 4, 2012 with an Airbus A330-200.

To meet growing demand on the route, the airline has upgraded the aircraft to a Boeing 777-300ER, with 42 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 386 generously-sized Economy Class seats, increasing passenger capacity by almost 50 per cent.

Vietnam is one of the top emerging economies in Asia, and Ho Chi Minh City has been a significant commercial centre and popular tourism destination. We have been made very welcome since our launch here, and we look forward to further success in the market. The upgrade of aircraft on our flights to Ho Chi Minh City confirms our strong commitment to Vietnam,” said Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ senior vice-president Commercial Operations, Far East and Australasia.

All classes of the new aircraft are equipped with Emirates’ entertainment system with more than 1,400 channels on-demand entertainment to choose from, including movies, television programmes, games, audio books and music from across the world. In addition to the entertainment, passengers can enjoy the delicacies from the exclusive menu served to them by Emirates Cabin Crew from over 120 nations including Vietnam.

Emirates has a fleet of 187 aircraft and is the world’s largest Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 operator. The airline now serves 126 destinations in 74 countries on six continents.
