Emirates has announced its support of premier golfing events across the Far East – in Malaysia, Singapore and China, firmly believing that sponsorship is a powerful way to promote Dubai and the airline in the global sports arena.
Emirates is the Official Airline of the Malaysian Open, which will be held between 16th -19th February; the Singapore Masters, slated to be held between 9th -12th March and the BMW Asian Open in Shanghai, which will take place between 20th – 23rd April. All three tournaments are co-sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours and carry substantial world ranking points.
The Malaysian Open has attracted top players such as Padraig Harrington, the world No.19; Miguel Angel Jimenez, who is ranked No.33; defending champion Thongchai Jaidee and Zhang Lian Wei, the No. 1 golfer in China.
At each of the events, Emirates will host teams at the Pro-Am tournaments that provide industry partners, celebrities and the airline’s top customers with a chance to match wits with an international golf professional and a chance to win the Closest-to-the-Pin contest.
The Pro-Am tournament at the Malaysian Open, was graced by the presence of HRH The King of Malaysia who played at the event.
It will also provide Emirates a chance to promote Dubai in Asia as a key business and leisure destination, by networking with top industry authorities and trade partners.
