Egypt tourism to target Indian MICE segment

Egypt Tourism office, in association with Cox & Kings, will promote Egypt as a ‘MICE and Conference destination’ in the Indian market. This announcement was made last week at the ‘Dining with the Pharaohs’ event held in Mumbai. Realising the potential of the growing Indian tourism market, Egypt has equipped itself with the latest in-demand facilities while preserving local tradition, history and natural beauty. Commenting on the development, Karan Anand, Head, Relationship and Supplier Management, Cox & Kings Ltd. said, “The figures of Indian corporates visiting Egypt has been growing consistently. Our aim is to promote Egypt to Indian business travellers. Cairo is one of the main destinations being promoted for the business travel segment from India.”

Other tourism products offered by the Egypt Tourism office include horseback riding across the desert from the Pyramids to Saqqara, homage to the monumental sculpture, ‘Sphinx’, Khan al-Khalili souk (bazaar in Cairo, which is one of the oldest markets in the world), live musical concerts in Alexandria, hot air balloon rides, world heritage site ‘Necropolis of Thebes’, cruise on river Nile, wreck diving around Thistelgorm in Red Sea and camping in Egypt’s Western desert. Egypt is among destinations like Spain, Finland, Istanbul, Greece, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and Japan that are promoting themselves to the increasing the traffic from the Indian MICE segment.
