Dragoman launches first overland trip to Burma

The thirty – two year old operator, known for pioneering overland routes throughout the world, believes it is the only large commercial tour operator to offer overland trips there.

SUFFOLK – Dragoman, the reputable and respected overland tour specialist, has just launched Burma as its newest destination for 2013/2014.

“Burma has been our sister company, Imaginative Traveller’s, biggest seller for 2012 / 2013, so we’re delighted to be able to offer the world’s first overland trips there for travellers who want a genuinely up-close and personal encounter with this amazing country and its people,” says Lauren Ungless, Destination Manager for Asia and Africa.

Each trip through Burma will be escorted by a local travel guide along with two other Dragoman crew, providing an immersive, insightful experience in this South East Asian destination.

Accommodation is split between characterful, local hotels and camping. Dragoman offers seven overland trips including Burma of between 28 and 88 days. Example tours include:

  • Kunming to Bangkok via Burma, 4 weeks through China, Burma and Thailand. Departures: 19th December, 20th December, 20th February 2014, 30th October 2014.
  • Luang Prabang via Burma, 36 days between Laos, Burma and Thailand Departure: 22nd December.
  • Bangkok to Bangkok via Burma, 53 days through Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, China and Burma. Departure: 5th December.
