DoubleTree by Hilton enters Hangzhou, China

Opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Hangzhou East reinforces brand's expansion in China with 16th property.

HANGZHOU – DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Worldwide announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Hangzhou East. The stylish and upscale 20-story, 308-room hotel is centrally located in the business district of Xiasha Economic & Technological Development Zone in Hangzhou. The hotel is owned by Hangzhou Vangoo Investment Co., Ltd and operated by Hilton Worldwide.

“The opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Hangzhou East marks our 16th hotel to open in China, and reinforces our brand’s growing footprint in the country,” said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “At DoubleTree by Hilton, we know the little things mean everything when it comes to a great travel experience. We are excited to deliver our world-renowned service to guests in Hangzhou for the first time, starting with our signature warm chocolate chip cookie welcome that is given to each guest on arrival.”

Located just 26 kilometers from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport and 20 kilometers from Wulin Square and the West Lake Scenic Area, the hotel is a direct link to the Hangzhou Metro, providing easy access to Hangzhou’s business center as well as Xiasha University City, and the area’s best shopping and dining.

With three uniquely-themed restaurants right at the hotel, guests won’t have to go far to indulge in delicious Chinese and international menu offerings. He Yuan offers a delicate, elegant dining experience with the best in Cantonese and Zhejiang cuisine. At E Cafe, guests can start the day with the brand’s famous Wake-up DoubleTree Breakfast buffet, and later enjoy Asian cuisine, Western grilled specialties and fresh seafood. At Suigestu, guests can explore a menu of exquisite Japanese specialties. For a more casual ambience, the Lobby Lounge offers a delectable selection of tea and light bites.

“As the capital city of Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou is not only enjoying rapid economic development, but also establishing itself as one of the top tourist destinations in China. We are confident that DoubleTree by Hilton Hangzhou East will showcase our strength in supporting the Yangtze River Delta region’s development,” said Bruce McKenzie, senior vice president of Operations, Greater China & Mongolia, Hilton Worldwide. “This year marks Hilton Worldwide’s 25th anniversary in China and the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Hangzhou East is the latest welcome addition to our growing portfolio.”

DoubleTree by Hilton Hangzhou East offers flexible meeting and event space to accommodate varying event needs, including a 1,050 square meter grand ballroom as well as eight multi-functional rooms, a VIP reception room and a boardroom. A 24-hour business center meets guests’ productivity needs, and a 24-hour fitness center and indoor swimming pool are available for guests looking to recharge while staying at the hotel.

Guests will also enjoy DoubleTree by Hilton brand exclusives, including an assortment of gourmet in-room tea and coffee offerings, a refreshing array of CITRON body care products by Crabtree & Evelyn and an industry-recognized service culture built around the idea of CARE, which stands for Create a Rewarding Experience, for guests, team members and the community. Each guest room and suite is equipped with a series of modern facilities and supplies, including expansive work areas, internet access, a 42-inch LCD TV and the signature Doubletree by Hilton SweetDreams(TM) bed.
