The U.S. Department of Commerce have awarded certification as a direct result of the significant business potential that China holds for American organisations, and the experience that Reed Travel Exhibitions has within the industry.
CIBTM, the China Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition, has confirmed that the show will be the only meetings industry exhibition across the globe, to be officially certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The show, which is set to take place at the China National Convention Centre in Beijing from 2nd – 4th September, has been recognised as ‘The Premier MICE Trade Show for American Suppliers in China’, providing a gateway for business opportunities between the two nations.

Research carried out by China Tourism Academy in 2012 found that America was the number one destination for Chinese Hosted Buyers looking to place business. In addition to this, the volume of Chinese outbound travel has hit a record high of 79 million (USD), with the sum of total expense at 80 billion (USD). The volume of Chinese travellers entering America also increased to 1.36 million in 2012, 41% higher than the total in 2011.

According to the Annual Report of China Outbound Tourism Development in 2012, America is currently in the top 10 outbound destinations for U.S. organisations. “Conferences and events, such as CIBTM, are essential to the continuation of frequent exchanges of business and culture between the two nations,” concluded Xu.
