China’s largest online travel agency stays ahead thanks to OAG’s real-time Dynamic Schedules tool

Validated by OAG’s database of more than 900 airlines and 4,000 airports, the OAG’s Dynamic Schedules tool delivers airline schedules changes as soon as they happen, directly to partner airlines, global reservation systems, travel portals, travel agents and travel management companies.

LUTON, UK – China’s largest online travel agency, Ctrip, has signed a deal to take OAG’s groundbreaking Dynamic Schedules product for the next three years, allowing Ctrip to receive schedules changes before its competitors.

OAG’s Dynamic Schedules tool is the only product in the marketplace to deliver real-time updates to flight schedules from global carriers in one data feed. Validated by OAG’s database of more than 900 airlines and 4,000 airports, the product delivers airline schedules changes as soon as they happen, directly to partner airlines, global reservation systems, travel portals, travel agents and travel management companies. Updates are delivered in a choice of XML or SSM/ASM data feed formats for instant synchronisation with the customer’s own system.

Phil Callow, chief executive, OAG, says: “OAG is the only supplier of this service. Ctrip began using Dynamic Schedules this month and has already started to see how the product leads to major competitive advantages including lower processing costs, fewer passenger re-bookings and better customer service. In July this year alone, for example, more than 86,000 schedules changes were supplied to OAG over a 24-hour period.”

Airlines have to react quickly to market demand. Passengers need to be re-booked or re-ticketed, system and online displays need to be updated, and sales agents need to know the new information.

A Ctrip senior spokesperson says: “We are very pleased to finalise this agreement with OAG and are confident that this service will allow us to be more competitive and efficient in order to better service our customers.

As China’s leading travel service enterprise, Ctrip provides over 141m registered members with comprehensive services, including mobile applications, hotel reservations, flight ticketing, package tours, corporate travel management and train ticketing. All are integrated with online and offline resources for a complete travel service chain.
