China to build new flight school

The Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC) has signed an agreement with Xinjiang Universal Air Company to jointly build a new flight school.

The new flight school will be dedicated to training more pilots and a joint preparatory group for the purpose has been set up, said sources from CAUC, which is based in the Tanggu District of Tianjin.

The location of the new school has not yet been disclosed.

The two partners will work together to apply for the right to grant licenses for commercial flights.

Xinjiang Universal Air Company, which falls under jurisdiction of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, is situated in Shihezi, a city located to the northwest of Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Founded in May 1983, Xinjiang Universal Air Company has grown into one of the country`s seven major universal air service carriers. It has a fleet of 33 planes and 119 employees.
