Southern Airlines has taken delivery of its fourth – and final – Airbus A330 aircraft. The brand-new aircraft arrived last weekend in Guangzhou and is slated to initially used in China Southern`s domestic routes from Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou to both Beijing and Shanghai. China Southern Airlines` Vice President Mr. Yuan Xin`an served as the carrier`s team leader in Toulouse, France at Airbus.
China Southern Airlines is pleased to take delivery of this brand-new aircraft as we continue to increase our long-haul capabilities, said Mr. Yuan.
We look forward to placing this new long-haul aircraft into operation into key markets that will allow our airline to be even more competitive in the global marketplace, added Mr. Yuan.
Direct from the Airbus factory floor in Toulouse, France, China Southern`s brand-new Airbus A330 features 24 Minipod Premium Business Class seats from B/E Aerospace, Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAV) which has won four prestigious design awards and was a nominee for Flight International`s 2004 Aerospace Industry Award.
China Southern Airline`s Airbus A330 all-new Premium Business Class seats feature:
- An ergonomically-designed fixed privacy shell which transforms into an eight degree flat bed – 1.9 meters long. The entire seat translates forward – and widens – in one swift motion – offering a private fixed living space for each passenger;
- Independent rotating leg rest adjustments which rises up and down – provides support to lower legs and calves;
- Electrically extending foot rest extension and bottom cushion extension which lengthens and shortens;
- Fully adjustable, automatic lumbar massage function;
- Multi-functional telephone and video control unit which controls 10.4 inch LCD tilting viewing screen and on-board music channels;
- Easily accessible, AC power plugs for laptops and CD players. No adaptors are needed;
- Private storage cavity and hip recess for added personal convenience;
- 58 inches of pitch between shell pods;
- Individual directional LED reading light with full intermediate dimming;
- Pull-out privacy divider separating each passenger.
