With Thailand’s new Suvarnabhumi Airport set to open on September 28, China Airlines will move all

its passenger flights to the new airport on that date. Also on that date, CAL’s new VIP lounge will be inaugurated at the new airport.

The new Suvarnabhumi Airport will replace Don Muang International Airport as the international gateway to Bangkok. To match the moving schedule, China Airlines will move its CI067 flight, from Taipei via Bangkok to Rome, one hour earlier for departure time and its CI065 flight, from Taipei via Bangkok to Amsterdam, 30 minutes earlier on September 27.

Currently, China Airlines operates 80 passenger flights each week to Don Muang Airport. The first flight to use the new Suvarnabhumi airport will be CI 066, which will arrive from Amsterdam and depart for Taipei on September 28.

The new Suvarnabhumi Airport occupies 324 square kilometers, and is the largest airport in Asia. It has the tallest control tower in the world, at 132 meters, and can handle 76 flights per hour. With 360 check-in counters, the airport can process 45 million passengers annually. For additional convenience, the international and domestic terminals are in the same building. CAL’s service area is in “S” district, with more than 10 check-in counters. With the opening of the new airport, CAL’s services in and out of Thailand will reach an even higher standard.
