Centara Hotels and Resorts poised to open first China resort

Centara Resort Zhaoqing is located in Zhaoqing City in Guangdong Province, which is close to some of China’s most bustling, successful areas, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau, making Zhaoqing a convenient travel hub for visitors to Southeastern China. 

BANGKOK – Centara Resort Zhaoqing is the Thai hospitality group’s first property in China, following the signing of a management contract with the owners, Zhaoqing Yuhao Properties Development Co., Ltd. It is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2017.
 
CEO of Centara Hotels & Resorts Thirayuth Chirathivat said, “I am extremely pleased to announce the inception of Centara’s first property in China – the country’s vast and ever-growing tourist market means China is a key part of Centara’s strategic expansion across Asia.
 
Chris Bailey, Centara’s senior vice president of Sales and Marketing also commented saying, “This resort is an ideal start for our expansion in China, and it provides a valuable synergy with our other Centara properties around the world.
 
The four-star resort will have 250 rooms in total, and guests will have a stimulating resort-style hotel experience, with an extensive range of family-friendly facilities including a water park complete with swimming pools and pool bar, an all-day restaurant plus one Chinese and one specialty dining venue, a fitness center, plus generous “Kid’s Club” and meeting facilities including an 800-square-meter ballroom. The resort will also feature the added attraction of Centara Hotel & Resort’s luxurious and award-winning Spa Cenvaree partners.

Zhaoqing is a historically-significant tourist destination, enjoying a temperate climate throughout the entire year. The scenic environs of this cradle of Cantonese civilization is home to a host of mountainous wonders, such as Qixingyan (Seven Star Crags), Dinghu Mountain, Xiannv Lake (Fairy Lake), Butterfly Valley and Qingyun Temple, and is justly regarded as one of Guangdong Province’s most famous tourist attractions.
