Centara adds the Watergate Pavillion Hotel in Bangkok

Centara Hotels & Resorts adds on April 1st 2013 a new four-star property in the Thai capital. The Watergate Pavillion Hotel will become the fourth property of the group in Bangkok.

BANGKOK – A four-star property located at Rachaprarop and above the Watergate Pavillion shopping complex, will turn into Centara Hotels & Resorts’ fourth property in the Thai capital.

Centara’s two longest-established hotels in Bangkok, Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, and Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, are both integral to prime shopping malls, a factor in acquiring the new management contract.

The new hotel and shopping complex are located inside a newly-constructed, 20-storey building, with the hotel taking up a total of 10 floors and featuring a total of 281 guestrooms. The location is particularly convenient as it will be located on Rachaprarop Road, a few meters away from the Pratunam shopping area and just a few minutes walking distance from Rachaprarop Rail Station with a direct access to Suvarnabumi International airport.

Of these, 147 will be superior rooms, 102 will be deluxe rooms, and 32 will offer a family-friendly concept. Facilities will include an all-day restaurant with a total of 160 seats indoors and outdoors, a rooftop restaurant with 64 seats, and a rooftop bar with 76 seats. There will be a Cense by Spa Cenvaree with 5 treatment rooms and a 56sqm fitness center.

Two meeting rooms, each 90 sqm, will cater to the meetings and events sector.

The Watergate Pavillion shopping complex is being built in 2 phases. Phase 1 consists of 5 floors and two basements, totaling 60,000 sqm, with more than 800 shops and food outlets. The hotel is due to open from April 1st, 2013.

Centara Hotels&Resorts is Thailand’s leading operator of hotels, with 40 deluxe and first-class properties covering all the major tourist destinations in the Kingdom. A further 18 resorts in the Maldives, Vietnam, Bali Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius Indian Ocean, brings the present total to 58 properties.

The latest Centara brand is named COSI Hotels, an economy brand designed for travelers who predominantly make their bookings via the Internet and who want comfort and convenience at the most friendly prices available, which is under development with the first property due to open in 2015.
