CAL boosts services from Kaohsiung to Manila

China Airlines announced yesterday that its new Kaohsiung- Manila daily service will start on October 1, 2008. Flight CI 637 will depart at 09:05 from Kaohsiung, and arrive in Manila at 10:45. Return flight CI 638 will leave at 11:45 and arrive in Kaohsiung at 13:25. The new schedule provides more frequencies and greater convenience for passengers from southern Taiwan.

An Embraer E190 jet, which China Airlines has leased from its subsidiary, Mandarin Airlines will serve this route. It’s configured into two classes with 8 seats in Premium Economy Class and 88 in Economy Class. The E190 jets are high-tech, medium-range jet airliners produced in Brazil, which Mandarin Airlines began to introduce in June 2007.

The move begins a new round of capacity redeployment in the CAL group, as CAL continues to enhance its products and services as part of its commitment to serve more passengers from southern Taiwan.
