The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has awarded a tender to a joint venture company to develop and manage a luxury facility at Changi Airport. This dedicated facility, targeted at the commercially important person (CIP) market, will open for operations in August this year.

The new facility can be used by passengers arriving at or departing from Changi Airport, on commercial or private aircraft, and will offer users personalised services and an airport experience unique to premium air travel. For example, passengers will be able to check-in or collect their luggage and clear immigration processes at this dedicated CIP facility. Arriving passengers will be brought to the facility immediately after their aircraft lands at Changi Airport while departing passengers will likewise be brought to their aircraft when it is time for boarding.

The two-storey facility, which is linked to Terminal 2, will also be equipped with facilities such as a “five-star” lounge, a business centre, retail outlets and a gym.

Mr Wong Woon Liong, Director-General of CAAS said, “The introduction of this new facility is part of CAAS’ efforts to provide the widest range of services, from budget to the most exclusive premium treatment, at Changi Airport. We are confident that the new facility will appeal to the needs of CIPs who enjoy prestige and luxury travel.”

The joint venture company awarded CAAS’ tender comprises Worldwide Flight Services, a leading airport and terminal services company based in France, Superior Travellers Services Limited, an experienced CIP service operator, and Sembawang Kimtrans Limited, a local company with vast experience in integrated logistics.
