Beijing is going to expand its Capital Airport to become a new landmark building in the city.

The international transport hub, costing 4.8 billion yuan, or about 580 million US dollars, will take some three years to complete and construction will start in a few days.

The new car-park will have space for around 10 thousand vehicles and the chaotic post-baggage reclaim rush for taxis will soon become a distant memory after a designated areas for taxis is built.

After the project is completed, passengers will also save time and energy as the new design will reduce the distance between gates and the central terminal.
