BITEC celebrates its 15th anniversary by focusing on the mission to become one of the world’s best exhibition facility.
BANGKOK – BITEC, Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre, celebrates this year its 15th anniversary and is looking to become one of world’s best exhibition and convention centres by 2020. The move will allow BITEC to support the expansion of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) business segment, an advent of Asean Economic Community (AEC) by 2015 and other international events.
Miss Panittha Buri, Director of Marketing and Sales of BITEC, explained that “since the company started operating business and opened the convention centre in 1997, BITEC has set the clear goal to become a comprehensively-integrated exhibition and convention centre which responds to the customers’ demand. BITEC highlights include world-class engineering, cutting-edge technology & utilities, professional team with knowledge, experience and determination to do the business with ethics and responsibility to the customers and the society. In addition, BITEC has paid attention to the environmental impact. Therefore, the company has succeeded in driving the business according to mission and has been recognized as one of the best exhibition and convention centres. In addition, BITEC has received strong interest from an average of 3.3 million trade exhibitors and visitors who use the centre service every year. The trend is set to rise further”.

In 2006, BITEC was named one of the top five best exhibition and convention centres in Asia-Pacific by the international exhibitors (surveyed by CEO Magazine “Industry Survey 2006” Edition). The company also received the top award as the best international operator from UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. Furthermore, BITEC has been certified for its excellent safety management for hosting seminars and exhibitions.

Miss Panittha added that to cater to the lifestyle of new generation in the digital era with the popularity of mobile phone and social media, BITEC launched BITEC Application, the latest trendy application for people who are interested in events, exhibitions, trade exhibitions or online shopping. BITEC Application features 5 menus designed to respond to the needs of the customers. The five menus are “About BITEC”, a gathering of information and an introduction of BITEC menu, “Map & Point of Interest (POI)”, featuring the directions to BITEC and interesting information, “Facilities &Services”, designed to introduce facilities and services inside BITEC, “Event Calendar”, showing the activities at BITEC and reminders for the interested persons, and “Promotion Menu” to give away privileges to the customers experience via various marketing promotions.
BITEC Application is available in Thai and English. It is compatible with iOS4.3 to iOS6, iPhone and iPad as well as Android operating system via tablets and phones.
