ATC Global announces preliminary conference programme spearheading growth

The focus of business growth and the ATM industry is clearly moving east with nations across Asia, India, and in the Middle East seeing phenomenal growth in air transport.

BEIJING – UBM, the organisers of the ATC Global Conference and Exhibition, taking place from 17-19 September 2014 at the China National Convention Centre (CNCC) in Beijing, together with the event host ATMB, the Air Navigation Service Provider in China, announced the preliminary conference sessions that industry leaders will debate at the Beijing Conference that will reflect the theme for ATC Global 2014 which is Spearheading Growth.

Paula Milburn, UBM’s Director of Aviation said, “An editorial board with senior representatives from emerging economies like China, the USA, Europe, and India, together with industry leaders and representatives from North America and Europe, is shaping the programme.

“We are delighted that high level speakers from ATMB, the FAA, the Airports Authority of India, Eurocontrol, ICAO, IATA, AAPA, IFATCA, the SESAR-JU, and the European Commission will join Airbus, Mitre, and others at this historic event.”

The focus of business growth and the ATM industry is clearly moving east with nations across Asia, India, and in the Middle East seeing phenomenal growth in air transport. Dubai is expected to surpass Heathrow this year as the world’s busiest international airport. China alone plans to open more than 90 new airports by 2020 with Beijing soon to be the world’s busiest airport. The question arising is: How will the Air Traffic Management systems that operate the airspace infrastructure here and elsewhere, consistently deliver the necessary safe, efficient capacity?

The ATC Global conference sessions will reflect this focus of growth and the top ATM priorities of airspace users and global air navigation plans, including:

  • Matching Regulation and Service
  • Demand, Capacity, and Efficiency
  • ICAO Block Upgrades & Performance Improvement Areas
  • International Collaboration
  • Developments in Communications, Navigation, & Surveillance
  • Airports & the ATM system
  • Flexible Use of Airspace
  • The Impact of RPAS to civil ATM

“ATC Global has a long history of bringing the industry together,” added Milburn. “ATC Global 2014 in Beijing will see an unprecedented gathering of leaders, representing the organisations that are driving air transport growth, together with those managing its capacity. The conference speakers will be addressing an agenda that will deliver valuable insight and perspective for our delegates and exhibitors.”
