Asia-Pacific, Emirates Airlines’ favourite continent for the Airbus A380

Emirates Airlines with the largest fleet of Airbus A380 in service in the world, offers the highest number of flights with the giant aircraft to Asia-Pacific.

DUBAI- Information came out as Emirates presented its timetable for winter 2012/2013. According to the airline, the carrier will continue to be the largest carrier in the world operating Airbus A380 aircraft. The Dubai-based airline has currently 21 aircraft and has a confirmed order for the delivery of another 90 aircraft from the same type. Recognizing the specific services needed by a large fleet of Airbus A380, the airline will open early 2013 a brand-new terminal exclusively dedicated to accommodate passengers flying on the Super-Jumbo.

In Asia, the carrier started to serve Kuala Lumpur in Airbus A380 earlier this year and just switch on July 1st to an Airbus A380 for its daily frequency between Dubai and Tokyo Narita. Next on the list is Dubai-Melbourne from October 1st. The daily frequency will further go to Auckland in New Zealand. Auckland will then become one of the few destinations in the region to be served by two daily flights in Emirates’ Airbus A380.

Beside the destinations already mentioned, other cities in Asia Pacific served by Emirates Airlines’ Super-Jumbo include Seoul, Bangkok, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Sydney.

In another development, the carrier announced to reinforce its presence to Australia for the winter season. From November 1st, Emirates will launch four weekly flights to Adelaide (South Australia) rising to a daily service from 1st February 2013. Adelaide will be the airline’s fifth destination in Australia. The airline will also expand its services to Perth from two and then three daily operations per week in each direction. The second flight starts next December while the third daily flight will become a reality by March 2013.
