Anantara Riverside Resort & Spa to open in Bangkok

Ten years after the first Anantara resort opened – in Hua Hin – Thailand’s 10th Anantara property will appear alongside Bangkok’s River of Kings, the Chaophraya, on November 1.

Titled the Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, the rebranded Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa, which has been the city’s only true riverside resort since it was established 17 years ago, becomes the third Anantara property in Bangkok.

Meaning “without end” in the Sanskrit language, Anantara has grown to 18 other properties in Asia, the Middle East and Indian Ocean in the decade since the brand was founded. Its 20th resort, on the island of Bali, is due to open before year’s end.

As a one-of-a-kind five-star resort on the Chaophraya River, guests at the Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa will experience an idyllic, quiet tropical retreat with a Thai village atmosphere spread over 11 acres of grounds within easy reach of Bangkok’s renowned shopping, entertainment, food and cultural attractions.

Indeed, the resort’s ferry from the busy riverfront to the Taksin Bridge BTS station is an interesting way to see a part of Bangkok that many visitors don’t experience.

Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa has 407 guest rooms, including 97 suites, 10 bars and restaurants, fully-equipped conference and meeting rooms and Mandara spa with nine treatment rooms and suites, all set in oasis-like tropical surroundings.

Special guest packages available until December 20 include free upgrade (when available) from a deluxe room to a deluxe river-view room, free breakfast and in-room wi-fi and 25 percent discount off all food, beverages and spa treatments.

The Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa is a member of Golf In A Kingdom: The Thailand Golf Experience.
