Amadeus has launched its new Facebook game, Cars Plus World Tour. This addictive car racing game gives users a chance to race their friends and workmates around the world and post their quickest time on their Facebook page. The fastest gamer each month will be announced on Amadeus’s Facebook page and will win a prize, from iTunes vouchers to larger consumer gadgets.
Cars Plus World Tour takes you back to the golden age of PC gaming. Users can operate their car with the arrow keys on their keyboard and must navigate through a number of obstacles like sand and water. Players can also give their car a ‘turbo strike’ to boost the power and increase their chances of a faster score. When the user has finished the race they post their time to the global leader board, which can be seen by their competitors.
The game has been launched in association with Amadeus Cars Plus, which provides travel agents with the best sales tools available to deliver superior customer service. These include advanced capabilities such as searching for car rental offers based on specific landmarks or addresses, the ability to compare multiple availability displays and the pre-population of data from customer profiles and company/travel agency policies. Along with these tools, Amadeus gives companies access to an extensive multi-media car image library to assist the shopping process. The whole, simplified booking flow is built on enabling agents to focus their attention on their customers, while creating instant revenue opportunities from increased car rental sales.
Rob Golledge, Head of Marketing Communication, Amadeus UK & Ireland, commented, “The simplicity of the game echoes the simplicity of Cars Plus. The navigation is straight-forward so you can get an understanding of how easy Cars Plus is to use and after you complete each stage, tips are offered highlighting how agents can maximise the benefits of Cars Plus. The goal of Amadeus Cars Plus is to make agents’ lives easier. Instead of having to visit individual car provider websites with their different layouts and booking flows, our customers can utilise the familiar and productive Amadeus environment to book ground transportation quickly and easily. A secondary objective of the game is to demonstrate that car rental can be fun and should be offered at every opportunity in order to increase sales and satisfy customers’ total travel needs.”
