Akaryn Hotel Group engages Pierre Leuzy to manage Italics Bangkok

Pierre Leuzy brings passion and experience to the team at Italics, backed by a proven track record of success in hospitality.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Adding to its reputation as one of the the top places in Bangkok to enjoy exceptional, innovative Italian cuisine, Italics Restaurant in Soi Ruamrudee recently named dynamic French epicurean, Pierre Leuzy as its new restaurant manager.

Originally from France, Pierre brings passion and experience to the team at Italics, backed by a proven track record of success in hospitality. Before landing in Thailand, he was was involved in several five star hotel pre-openings in Paris and the famous Beau Rivage in the Swiss Alps. He also managed a series of elaborate private events for several wealthy families and private companies on the French Riviera.

“I have always been driven by the idea of service excellence,” he says. “I once sent back an incredibly expensive birthday cake because the family that hired me said it was the wrong shade of pink. They ended up paying 10 times more for the replacement because we hired a famous pastry chef from Paris to make a new one, but it was never about the money. They trusted me, so I simply did everything possible to meet their expectations.”

More recently, working in the Thai capital’s fiercely competitive F&B scene, Pierre managed one of the most popular rooftop bars in Bangkok before joining a team of hospitality professionals to develop a new high-end community mall in the fashionable residential and nightlife district of Thonglor, which included a choice of international restaurants and a night club.

“I enjoy the challenge of creating something new and unique,” he said. “At Italics we already offer something special – my goal is to make it extra special.”

The much-posted eatery has built a loyal following of foodies thanks to Chef Kip‘s creatively inspired gourmet menu, and the attached Balvenie Bar is one of Bangkok’s top spots for a post-dinner tipple with the best single malt selection in Southeast Asia complemented by an impressive selection of quality cigars in its humidor.
