Airbus and CAE renew flight training services cooperation agreement

Airbus and CAE have agreed to renew their flight training services cooperation agreement through to 2017. The partnership has grown significantly since it began in 2002, and combines Airbus’ training expertise and CAE’s global network of flight training centres. This cooperation also ensures that Airbus operators are provided with the largest fleet of full-flight simulators (FFS) for Airbus aircraft types, standardised courseware and expert instructors.

“CAE’s continuous technology innovation, industry leadership and presence in emerging markets represent tremendous value for Airbus customers worldwide,” said Didier Lux, Executive Vice President of Customer Services for Airbus. “Our common goals and cooperation have led to some of the most effective and cost-efficient training services in the marketplace.”

The Airbus-CAE cooperation, which began with 10 training centres and 11 Airbus FFSs in 2002, has now grown to 18 training centres with 60 full-flight simulators in Asia, India, the Middle East, Europe, North and South America. The training offering has expanded such that Airbus and CAE are now able to provide Airbus operators with the complete range of training services, including turnkey solutions. The most recent aircraft type to be added to the Airbus-CAE training services cooperation is the new Airbus A350 XWB.

“While our cooperation continues to adapt to emerging technologies and market dynamics, the benefits to the customer of training with Airbus and CAE have remained consistent,” said Jeff Roberts, CAE Group President, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services. “Customers expect and receive the highest standards in quality, safety, service and efficiency in their training. We look forward to continuing this heritage with Airbus operators around the globe.”
