AirAsia has bagged “The Brand Laureate 2006-07 for brand excellence in the Airlines-Low Cost Carrier Category” award, at the inaugural Brand Laureate Awards by Asia Pacific Brands Foundation (APBF) in Kuala Lumpur. The award was presented by Minister in Prime Minister’s Department, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamad Nazri bin Tan Sri Abd Aziz, accepted by Kathleen Tan, AirAsia’s Executive Vice President – Commercial.
The BrandLaureate Awards, also known as the Grammy Awards for Branding, recognise the best brands from Malaysia and Asia Pacific and covers various industries and categories from multinationals to local, small and medium industries. Winners are decided based on certain criteria which include brand strategy/identity and brand culture. 72 winners had been selected from 300 nominees including 50 from countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
