Air Seychelles Hong Kong flights now on sale

Air Seychelles has received government approval to sell flights to Hong Kong, which will commence on March 24, 2013.

HONG KONG – Air Seychelles has received government approval to sell flights to Hong Kong, which will commence on March 24, 2013.

The three return services per week, operated from the Seychelles to Hong Kong via Abu Dhabi, are available for purchase now.

The new flights will be operated by Air Seychelles’ second Airbus A330-200 aircraft, which is due for delivery in early 2013.

Cramer Ball, Air Seychelles’ Chief Executive Officer, said: “Hong Kong is one of the most dynamic financial and commercial hubs in North Asia. It is also a potential gateway to expand Air Seychelles’ reach within the region, with convenient connections to more than 30 destinations across mainland China, Japan and Australia.

“This link between the Seychelles and the thriving economies of Asia opens up a huge market for Seychelles tourism. Since announcing our plans, we have been meeting with travel industry representatives in Hong Kong and laying the foundations for the market. The response we have received there has been overwhelmingly positive, with travel agents and tour operators enthusiastic about bringing more travellers to our archipelago.”

Guests travelling between Hong Kong and the Seychelles will remain on the same aircraft and keep the same seat for both legs of the journey, allowing a seamless journey over Abu Dhabi.

By operating the flights over Abu Dhabi, Air Seychelles can also codeshare with Etihad Airways to support further traffic to and from China. This dual approach will enable the airline to capture a significant market share.
