As of November 2, 2010, Afriqiyah Airways is operating twice weekly non-stop flights between Tripoli and Beijing. The new route offers business travelers the first non-stop flight between Tripoli and Beijing and has been scheduled to provide convenient flight times, as well as good connections, to the African network of Afriqiyah Airways.
Afriqiyah Airways is utilizing A330-200 equipment on the new service between the Libyan and Chinese capitals, which provides 30 seats in business class and 200 economy class seats. Travelers in business class enjoy the superior comfort of fully-reclining seats. Business Class passengers connecting on Afriqiyah flights utilizing A319 and A320 aircraft will experience extra wide 4-abreast seating that rivals the first class service on premium carriers. The aircraft can also carry up to 8 cargo pallets.
The new flight departs Tripoli at 10:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays and arrives in Beijing at 2:30 am the following day. The flight leaves Beijing at 05:30 am on Wednesdays and Fridays and arrives at Tripoli at 11:30 am.
The new service offers round-trip connections to Abidjan, Accra, Bangui, Bamako, Kinshasa, Khartoum, Lagos, Niamey, and Nouakchott. Out of the US, interline fares are in cooperation with US Airways.
