ACI Asia-Pacific elects new President and Board of Directors

Mr. Seow Hiang Lee, CEO of Changi Airport Group, was appointed President in February 2018 to serve the unexpired term of Ms. Kerrie Mather, who retired at the end of January 2018.

Narita, Japan – ACI Asia-Pacific elected its new President and Board of Directors at its regional assembly in Narita, Japan yesterday.

Mr. Seow Hiang Lee, CEO of Changi Airport Group was elected ACI Asia-Pacific President for a two-year term with immediate effect.  Mr. Lee was appointed President in February 2018 to serve the unexpired term of Ms. Kerrie Mather, who retired at the end of January 2018.

Commenting on his new role as President of ACI Asia-Pacific, Mr. Lee said, “ACI has long been at the forefront in fostering cooperation among its member airports and other partners in world aviation and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the President of ACI Asia-Pacific region. I will continue to work closely with Patti and the Regional Board to ensure that ACI remains relevant to the changing needs of our members and contribute towards a safe, secure, efficient and environmentally sustainable air transport system. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our Past President, Ms. Kerrie Mather for her contributions and her leadership in strengthening ACI Asia-Pacific, and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”

I welcome Seow Hiang Lee as ACI Asia-Pacific’s new President,” said Patti Chau, Regional Director of ACI Asia-Pacific.  “He has been an active member of the ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Board since 2008 and brings with him a wealth of international aviation industry experience and expertise.  As CEO of one of the most dynamic business and transport hubs connecting the world, Seow Hiang Lee has an excellent knowledge of airport operations, commercial opportunities, regulatory framework, infrastructure and investment requirements globally.  We look forward to his engaged leadership to steer ACI Asia-Pacific well into the future and advance the interests of the Asia-Pacific airports.”

The Assembly also elected the following to serve as Officers and Directors of the ACI Asia- Pacific Regional Board with immediate effect:

Officers (for two-year term)

First Vice President:

  • Mr. Emmanuel Menanteau, Kansai Airports, Japan

Second Vice Presidents: 

  • Mr. Kjeld Binger, Airport International Group, Jordan
  • Mr. Fred Lam, Airport Authority Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Secretary Treasurer: 

  • Sheikh Aimen bin Ahmed Al Hosni, Oman Airports Management Company, Oman  

New Directors (for three-year term)

  • Mr. Geoff Culbert, Sydney Airport, Australia
  • Mr. Kejian Zhang, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China

ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Board is a governing body which determines the overall development strategy of ACI Asia-Pacific region. The Board is composed of 25 aviation business leaders across the Asia-Pacific region.
