ClubRock Perlis, Malaysia’s first rock climbing base camp and eco-adventure hub set to redefine perlis tourism

Situated in Gua Kelam, ClubRock Perlis spans a total land area of over 23,000sq ft. It features 35 rooms and 5 premium camps, each accommodating up to four people.

KUALA LUMPUR – Perlis is a captivating destination with picturesque landscapes adorned by endless paddy fields and unique limestone outcrops. Boasting limestone cliffs, large caves and fresh routes, Perlis provides the perfect setting for rock climbing. The state’s mountainous national park in the west offers challenging climbing opportunities, while the flat regions showcase breathtaking limestone monoliths.

Capitalising on this natural beauty, MyEco Discovery Sdn Bhd (a member of MyUS Group) announced the soft launch of ClubRock Perlis, the first-ever rock climbing base camp and eco-adventure hub in the state. The Chief Minister of Perlis, YAB Tuan Mohd Shukri Bin Ramli, launched the event at KL Eco City. ClubRock will embark on a nationwide roadshow in Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, and Perlis, leading up to its public opening in January 2024, aligning with Visit Perlis Year 2024-2025.

Situated in Gua Kelam, ClubRock Perlis spans a total land area of over 23,000sq ft. It features 35 rooms and 5 premium camps, each accommodating up to four people. With a total capacity of 160 guests, ClubRock Perlis offers a unique and immersive experience amidst nature’s embrace.

“We are thrilled to introduce ClubRock Perlis, Malaysia’s first rock climbing base camp and eco-adventure hub in Perlis,” said Dato’ Nellsen Young, Executive Chairman and Group CEO of MyUS Group of Companies. “Perlis’ natural beauty is truly exceptional and a treasure trove for outdoor enthusiasts, and ClubRock Perlis aims to put the state on the map of world rock climbing. Our mission is to create a space for education, development, community growth, and exploration. We invite visitors to immerse themselves in Perlis’ natural wonders while enjoying modern amenities and thrilling adventure activities,” Dato’ Nellson explained.

Enjoyable for Everyone

While rock climbing remains a central attraction, ClubRock Perlis also offers various activities suitable for young children. From easy climbs suitable for children as young as seven years old, to exploring the child friendly Gua Kelam 1, also known as the Cave of Darkness, nature walks and wildlife spotting, ClubRock Perlis aims to foster a sense of appreciation for nature in children of all ages, ensuring that it is a destination suitable for the entire family.

During the soft launch, ClubRock Perlis introduced its exclusive Adventure Package, a 3-day, 2-night stay for four persons, inclusive of breakfast. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in thrilling activities such as Gua Kelam Caving, rock climbing sessions, and nature walks. The package also includes a special dinner at a popular grilled fish restaurant, return transfers from either the train or bus station for four persons, and redeemable vouchers worth over RM3,000 for discounts on activities and attractions in Perlis.

Empowering Local Communities

ClubRock Perlis aims to create numerous opportunities for the local community and industry. By hiring local adventure guides and rock climbers as full-time staff, ClubRock Perlis will provide employment opportunities and promote community growth. The base camp will also serve as a hub for training and enhancement courses, and create opportunities for local students.

“This project will generate job opportunities for the local community in various sectors such as hospitality, culinary services, and adventure guiding. ClubRock Perlis is also committed to supporting local industries by sourcing supplies from local food sellers and promoting Perlis’ unique flavours and delicacies at their on-site café,” explained Dato’ Nellsen.

Supporting Eco-Tourism and Sustainable Practices

Prioritising sustainable practices, ClubRock Perlis will integrate eco-friendly technologies into its operations to conserve resources, recycle water, and reduce waste. Rainwater harvesting systems and compost machines are being implemented to achieve these goals. In addition to these efforts, the resort will offer informative and engaging daily tours led by knowledgeable guides, providing unique insights into Gua Kelam’s natural wonders and promoting environmental awareness.

Aimed at preserving and understanding the area’s natural wonders, ClubRock Perlis welcomes partnerships with universities and researchers interested in studying Perlis’ unique flora and fauna, emphasising collaboration and knowledge exchange.

“ClubRock Perlis is set to revolutionise tourism in Perlis, offering an unmatched experience for rock climbing enthusiasts and nature lovers alike,” concluded Dato’ Nellsen.
