Twice weekly flights to Chongqing begin March 22; This will be the first ever nonstop between the US and Chongqing.
LOS ANGELES, CA – Hainan Airlineslaunched the its third nonstop route between LAX and central China. Hainan now connects passengers twice each week to the manufacturing metropolis of Chongqing, famous for its world-renowned cuisine and rich history, as well as its strategic location on the storied Yangtze River and the Three Gorges.
The new route is part of Hainan’s large-scale expansion in North America. On the west coast, Hainan already operates nonstop service between Silicon Valley (SJC), Las Vegas and Beijing, and from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Beijing and Shanghai. This complements the airline’s nonstop routes between Beijing and Chicago, Calgary, Boston and Toronto, and between Shanghai and Boston. Hainan inaugurated LAX to Changsha service in January 2016, and to Chengdu just last week.
The new service is flown by Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Hainan is the airline with the most nonstop 787 Dreamliner routes between China and North America.
As a mileage partner with Alaska Airlines, passengers can earn and redeem miles on Alaska and connect between Hainan’s west coast gateways and numerous destinations throughout North America. Second only to Seattle, LAX is a major hub for Alaska, which has recently acquired Virgin America, with more than 29 direct routes to destinations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica. Connections can also be made with American and JetBlue.

Hainan Airlines is Mainland China’s largest independent airline, and is the only Mainland Chinese airline with a perfect five-star rating from Skytrax, the international airline ratings agency, six years in a row.
The new route departs LAX Terminal 2 on Wednesdays and Sundays at 12:45am and arrives Chongqing at 6:30am the following day. Return flights depart Chongqing Tuesdays and Saturdays at 9:15pm and arrive LAX at 8:00pm the same day.
Special introductory fares are offered on the new route.
Business class passengers enjoy priority check-in and luxurious seats that convert to fully-flat beds. Gourmet Chinese and Western cuisine as well as award-winning wines, freshly brewed espresso and high-quality tea are available. Amenity kits feature Bulgari cosmetics. A state of the art entertainment system offers over 100 movies, audio selections and games on demand.
Premium passengers can also reserve complimentary private chauffeured car service between home, the airport and their destination in both the U.S. and China.
