Now in its 6th year, 'Youth Trekkers Wanted' has so far awarded cash incentive prizes to over 80 travellers, who have all gone on to backpack around Taiwan.
TAIWAN – Backpackers looking for their next big adventure can now enter a pioneering youth travel initiative launched by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education. The ‘Youth Trekkers Wanted’ campaign gives people aged 18-30 the opportunity to come up with their dream Taiwan trekking itinerary, with those chosen given up to US $3,000 (approx. £1,945) to make their dream a reality.
Previous winning itineraries have included a ‘love at first bite’ culinary tour, as well as trek to discover Taiwan’s diverse graffiti and street art scene.
Anyone interested in entering this year’s competition should submit their dream itinerary and completed application no later than July 14 via the official ‘Youth Trekkers Wanted’ website
