Guam representatives visit Japan

The Vice Speaker of the 30th Guam Legislature, Senator Benjamin J.F. Cruz, accompanied GVB General Manager Gerald S.A. Perez, on his first official visit to Japan since being appointed Chairman of the Committee on Tourism, Cultural Affairs, Youth and Public Broadcasting.

During their visit, the Senator and General Manager made courtesy visits with Japan’s leading travel organizations, including top level officials of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), Japan Travel Bureau (JTB Corp), and JALPAK. Discussions during these meetings centered on developing new ways to maintain and increase tourism between Guam and Japan.

Senator Cruz also visited with important city officials, like Izu City Mayor Yutaka Kikuchi, and representatives from the Toi Hotel Association to also discuss ways of increasing tourism between the city and Guam. The island shares a sister-site relationship with Izu City, who like Guam, has a Two Lovers Point attraction. The Two Lovers Point Sister-Site relationship celebrated its 20th anniversary during the Senator’s visit.
