Namaste Vietnam Festival 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City showcases cultural activities, film screenings, and seminars to foster India-Vietnam ties. Highlights include prominent Indian film personalities and bilateral trade discussions
From 12th – 20th August, the Namaste Vietnam Festival 2023 has been captivating audiences in Ho Chi Minh City and several other Vietnamese cities with a rich tapestry of cultural exchange activities.
This festival was unveiled to the public by Mr. Madam Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, during a press briefing on 9th August.
A joint endeavor between the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, the Union of Friendship Organizations, and the Vietnam – India Friendship Association, this year’s festival resonated with the theme “People Unite, Warm Friendship.” Central to its mission is fostering cultural understanding and facilitating interpersonal exchanges to bolster the camaraderie between India and the Vietnamese community.
Prominent segments of the festival have included an Indian Film Festival, which showcased six remarkable Indian films, and the India – Vietnam Film Cooperation Conference. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to partake in three seminars centered around tourism, railways, and cinema. The festival also saw the participation of around 20 illustrious Indian actors and directors, names like Anupam Kher, Alisha Chinai, Yuvika Chaudhary, Hansal Mehta, Herman Dsouz, and Avika Gor among them. Seamlessly blending culture with commerce, the event has been instrumental in enhancing bilateral connections spanning tourism, trade, art, music, and film.
The festival commenced on 12th August at the Hoa Binh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City, drawing both local and international attention.
