We are at ITB Berlin with Mr Martin Craigs, Chief Executive Officer PATA, Pacific-Asia Travel Association. Mr Craigs, how much does the incoming tourism in Asia-Pacific region be affected by the global economic crisis and from which markets?
The Asia-Pacific region seems to have positive growth in the GTP’s of almost all its countries, how much this helps the intra-Asia tourism and what is your estimation for the next years?
What are the strategic plan, and the actions that PATA is doing for approaching the long haul markets?
The penetration of the internet in the Asia Pacific region is lower than the mean of other regions. What PATA is doing to encourage travel trade to use it and benefit from it?
Do you believe that the growth of tourism in the Asia-Pacific region will have a negative effect to the environment? And what PATA is doing for the education of its members about the environmental issues?
How does PATA work with the Governments of the Asia-Pacific countries to facilitate travelling and eliminate visa issues?
