Tiger Airways adds further services east and west

Fresh off the back of Tiger Airways Australia’s welcome return to Cairns announcement and in more good news for consumers, the airline is announcing that as of April 2012, it will increase flights and add a further 155,000 seats in order to meet seasonal demand on the popular Melbourne – Sydney, Melbourne – Perth, Melbourne – Brisbane and Melbourne – Gold Coast routes.

“Both Australia’s east and west coasts will benefit from today’s announcement and the additional capacity it creates,” said Vanessa Regan, Tiger Airways’ Head of Marketing and Communications.

Four new flights will provide an additional 56,520 seats on the popular Melbourne – Sydney route (commencing 1 April, 2012) and 59,760 seats between Melbourne and Perth (commencing 25 April, 2012) – which are on sale now at the below listed times:

Further to this and in addition to the new Cairns services already on sale, Tiger has added close to 40,000 extra seats for flights within its existing schedule for the new travel season (for travel period extending end of March through to end of October 2012), with close to 30,000 of these seats available now between Victoria and Queensland on the popular Melbourne – Brisbane and Melbourne – Gold Coast routes. (The rest will be split onto existing Melbourne – Sydney and Melbourne – Perth services).

“Tiger Airways is committed to driving consumer competition and making domestic air travel accessible to all Australians,” added Ms Regan.

Tiger Airways continues to resume domestic services gradually, focusing on flying popular routes which enable the airline to fly affordably and with enhanced reliability. Earlier this week, Tiger Airways announced a new daily daytime service between Melbourne and Cairns commencing 25 April 2012, providing over 2,500 additional visitor seats through Cairns Airport and Melbourne Airport weekly.

The airline is keen to reinstate flights to a number of other destinations around Australia which the airline will announce in due course.
