Hong Kong – ACI Asia-Pacific is pleased to announce that Mr. Andrew Warrender of Northern Territory Airports Pty Ltd is named as the ACI Asia-Pacific Young Executive of the Year 2018.
A total of nine submissions were received this year and the papers were reviewed by a Panel of Judges (the Panel) chaired by Mr. Emmanuel Menanteau, Co-CEO of Kansai Airports and Secretary Treasurer of ACI Asia-Pacific.
The Panel concluded that the submission of Mr. Andrew Warrender demonstrated substantial research effort and provided thoughtful recommendations on airport’s response to the trend of e-commerce.
Mrs. Patti Chau, Regional Director of ACI Asia-Pacific said, “I would like to congratulate Mr. Andrew Warrender of Northern Territory Airports Pty Ltd for his outstanding work on how can airport commercial offerings maintain competitiveness in the era of E-Commerce. His research also discussed case studies across different industries, which can serve as valuable references to the dynamic field of airport business. I am proud that we have many young talents in our region as we received very high standard research papers this year. I wish to congratulate all other participants as well for demonstrating their innovative ideas in tackling our industry challenges through their research papers.”
The Panel also unanimously decided to give Honorable Mentions to Mr. Kyoji Fukuda of Narita International Airport and Mr. Manish Agnihothri of GMR Hyderabad International Airport. Their submissions were very comprehensive and shared unique insights on the topic.
ACI Asia-Pacific Young Executive of the Year Award is a research paper competition, introduced in 2009, to encourage and promote innovative ideas and solutions to challenges facing the aviation industry. The outstanding young talent who contributes the best research paper on a selected topic will be honored as the ACI Asia-Pacific Young Executive of the Year. This year’s candidates were required to submit research papers on the following topic:
- How do airport commercial offerings maintain competitiveness in the era of E-Commerce?
The award presentation ceremony will be held on April 24, 2018 at the ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly in Narita, Japan.
