Legoland Malaysia will open its doors on September 15, 2012

Official countdown started for the entertainment park located in Johor Bahru (Malaysia), a few kilometers away from the border to Singapore. Discounted tickets are already on sale on the company’s website…

JOHOR– At the end of April, Legoland Malaysia officially unveiled its opening date. The inaugural of the 30.75 hectares theme park will take place on Saturday, September 15. It took a relatively short time to build the facility as officials from Merlin Entertainments Group broke ground to the park only in December 2009.  Speaking during a presentation, Siegfried Boerst, General Manager of Legoland Malaysia, explained : “Our official opening date has been something we’ve had a lot of enquiries from the public on since the park broke ground in December 2009. I’m pleased to announce that due to the hard work of all of our contractors we will now be opening Legoland Malaysia ahead of schedule by a number of months. We hope that with today’s news families and tour operators will begin planning their trips to visit us and we look forward to giving you an experience like no other in Asia. Rather appropriately we will be opening the day before Malaysia Day which happens to be a long weekend!”

Legoland Malaysia will offer more than 40 rides and attractions – from roller coasters to race cars as well as family-focused interactive shows. In May, the processing of installing 50 million of Lego bricks and models started. Sales of ticket just started at the end of May with special prices proposed for a limited period of time. The price for an adult single entry is fixed at approximately US$ 32 (RM 96) while children will only pay US$ 24 (RM 70).

Legoland Malaysia will be located in the Iskandar economic zone, a developing urban area build according to environment friendly principles.  The area covers approximately 36 km2 and easily accessible from Singapore, Johor Bahru as well as Senai International Airport.
