As part of Europcar Australia’s environmental push, the car rental company is now adding more diesel vehicles to its fleet. Over the next few weeks the company will take delivery of a total of 500 Volkswagen Jetta Diesel 2.0 TDIs and Skoda Octavia Ambiente sedans.
Europcar Australia’s Group Marketing Manager Ashley Jurberg said that the new vehicles scored good ratings in the government’s green vehicle guide based on greenhouse and air pollution emissions. “These vehicles are stylish yet powerful with their diesel engines and also economical for the motorist,” Mr Jurberg said. “They will complement our existing fleet and add to our other environmental initiatives whilst handling well on the road.”
In Australia, Europcar has a partnership with non-profit environmental conservation organisation Greenfleet. Through a carbon neutralisation program 17 trees are planted for each new vehicle added to Europcar’s fleet and customers can elect to make a donation each time they hire a vehicle.
