Amadeus signed an agreement with Valuair which will significantly expand the airline’s distribution network worldwide. The agreement will see Valuair join its sister airline, Jetstar Asia, one of the region’s leading low cost carriers, in providing its fares and inventory for booking and sale to over 78,000 travel agents on the Amadeus system.

Last year, Valuair merged with Jetstar Asia, the regional offshoot of the Jetstar brand, which was launched by Qantas as a low cost airline in the Australian domestic market. Valuair and Jetstar Asia operate an extensive route network covering Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines.

Commenting on the agreement, Ms Chong Phit Lian, the CEO of both Jetstar Asia and Valuair, said: “Amadeus’ extensive selling network made them an easy choice as a partner for our distribution needs. By partnering with Amadeus, we are able to further grow our indirect distribution and together with our direct channels, provide travellers with greater options in how they choose to book their flights.”

Damian Hickey, Vice President Airline Business Group, Amadeus Asia Pacific said: “We are pleased to broaden our existing relationships with our partners, Qantas and Jetstar, to now embrace their two low cost subsidiaries. The addition of Valuair and Jetstar Asia demonstrates the confidence our partners have in our ability to help them increase revenues through our advanced distribution technologies and strong market presence.”
