TOKYO- Tokyo Station Hotel reopened its doors on October 3, 2012. “The Preservation and Restoration Project of the Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building to its original splendor had involved the skills of so many professionals: architects, historians, restorers and craftsmen. Moreover, The Tokyo Station Hotel treasures its 100-year heritage and aims to continue its concept of timeless elegance for the next century onwards”, said General Manager Hitoshi Fujisaki

The Tokyo Station Hotel initially opened in 1915- distinguished by its magnificent architecture and state-of-the-art facilities- had welcomed guests from Japan and from countries across the globe. It originally featured only 56 guestrooms but became famous immediately as one of the first European-style hotel in Tokyo. Back to 1915, the hotel showcased magnificent architecture and state-of-the-art facilities and banquet rooms. Following WWII, the hotel was reconstructed in 1947 and reopened its doors in 1951. In 2003, the hotel was finally designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.

Temporarily closed in 2006 to make way for the preservation and restoration of the Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building, the fully remodeled hotel reintegrates with the station and aims to regain its role in the Gateway to Tokyo and Japan. The total space area was expanded from the previous 5,600 square meters to 20,800 square meters, offering 150 unique room accommodations, 10 restaurants and bars, 3 elegant banquet rooms for weddings and events, fitness and spa, and other facilities. The European Classic interior concept was designed by the lauded British interior design firm Richmond International Ltd
