Such data was announced by ATOR Analytical Service. At the same time the passenger traffic will continue to grow in 2011, but the rates of growth will decrease considerably.

The total number of transported people of the Russian airlines increased by 26.9% in comparison with the same period of 2009 and by 12.8% in comparison with 2008.

According to the results of 11 months of 2010 the leading air companies remained the same as in 2009: Aeroflot, Transaero, Sibir, UTair and GTK Rossiya.

The passenger traffic will continue to grow in 2011. “The growth will be lower than this year, after the crisis a 30% increase was noted, but higher than the world’s indicators, which can be increased by 5-6% according to the forecasts. We will have approximately twice as high indicators”, announced Aleksandr Neradko, the Head of the Russian Aviation Authority. Commenting upon the prospects of the industry in 2011, Mr. Neradko admitted that “financial situation of many air companies is not so good, so we can expect some mergers in the nearest future”.
