TAT's promotional video "Warm Welcome" wins another award at the International Festival of Tourism Film "On the East Coast of Europe"
BANGKOK – The hit Thailand promotional video “Warm Welcome” picked up yet another award at the International Festival of Tourism Film “On the East Coast of Europe” in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria — a very popular competition among filmmakers and producers.
Submitted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand- Balkan Representative Office,the video was declared a winner in the category of ‘Advertising Film of up to 3 Minutes’, beating out competing entries from France, Sweden, Croatia and Poland.
The video was judged as “enticing and interesting – a beautiful combination of expression and rhythm presenting many of Thailand’s tourism attractions united by the key phase “Always amazing you!”
This year’s competition saw 48 productions from 18 participating countries; such as, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, Poland, Sweden, Jordan, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and others. Members of the judging committee were quoted as saying that their task had been made doubly difficult by the impressive creativity and good quality of all the productions.
“Warm Welcome” is a rapid-fire, one-minute TV commercial spot that shows a young Caucasian male on a whirlwind tour of Thailand with its huge diversity of cultural and natural backdrops, and using various means of transport; such as, taxis, tuk-tuks and boats.
A sequence of nearly 20 “Thainess” activities that visitors can enjoy in the kingdom, shot in 30 locations over nine days, are expertly edited into the clip. The finale shows him realising how “Amazing Thailand Always Amazes You”.
TAT Governor Mr. Suraphon Svetasreni said, “This video is designed to highlight Thailand’s unique selling propositions, including both the ‘hardware’ like the extensive tourist attractions, and the ‘software’ such as “Thainess” and “Hospitality” — all of which have impressed millions of visitors over the years.
“We are glad that the result is proving to be an attention-grabber and winning awards,” he added.
