TOKYO – Shiba Park Hotel in Tokyo announced on February 13 that it will hold events on weekdays between March 28 and April 5, 2018, to see beautifully blooming cherry trees in vicinity. (The date of events may change depending on weather conditions.) The events are designed to allow guests from overseas to experience and enjoy Japanese culture and customs.

In the events, hotel staff will guide guests to cherry blossom spots nearby and provide information on different cherry trees seen. Highlighted will be a visit to Zojoji Temple where guests can view cherry blossoms with the temple and Tokyo Tower all at once.

Guests at Shiba Park Hotel are welcome to join the events without any fee.

Shiba Park Hotel President Rentaro Yanase said:
Cherry blossoms bloom only about a week. Japanese people are attracted to this short period of beauty in spring. I hope that guests will enjoy the ‘ohanami’ culture through this event.”

Japanese Culture Salon Manager Yuka Inoue said:
Spring weather in Japan is usually very calm, and ‘ohanami’ in Japan has become famous worldwide. We hope to share the ‘ohanami’ culture with guests and enjoy together.”
