Scoot’s first B787 commercial service arrived in Perth

In addition to Perth, Scoot’s 787 will be deployed to Hong Kong.

Scoot launched commercial service with its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner service from Singapore to Perth. Scoot’s first 787-9, named “Dream Start”, touched down as scheduled at Perth Airport at 6:15pm, 5th February, and was welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute.

Officials from Perth Airport and Tourism Western Australia were among the welcome party to receive Dream Start and its guests from Singapore.

The entry into commercial service of Scoot’s 787 Dreamliner is the culmination of many years of preparation. It is an historic occasion for Scoot, and it is wonderful to be welcomed with such enthusiasm by the city of Perth,” said Campbell Wilson, Scoot’s CEO.

Campbell added, “Dream Start, like the 19 other 787s to follow over the next few years, is a game changer for Scoot. These aircraft will triple our fleet size, allow us to launch new destinations, add frequencies and continue offering unbeatable value airfares. With newly designed seats, inflight Internet connectivity and in-seat power, as well as larger windows, better humidity and cabin pressure, larger overhead luggage bins, Scoot’s 787 sets a new standard in low-cost travel.

In addition to Perth, Scoot’s 787 will be deployed to Hong Kong. All other Scoot destinations will progressively convert to 787 between now and August 2015, at which point Scoot will become the first airline in the world to operate an all-787 fleet.
