‘Sarawak Convention Bureau: catching the BE waves in the land down under’

KUCHING – Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) continues to maintain its bid win growth whilst ramping up its marketing efforts to Australia at the Asia – Pacific Incentive and Meetings Expo (AIME) 2014; to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre 18 & 19 February.

The bureau is set to introduce its “Tribal Quest- Business the Borneo Way” package –a uniquely crafted itinerary that gives an in-depth knowledge of Sarawak and its available products and services to highlight the Land of the Hornbills as aprospective venue for business events; in particular incentives.

Managing Director, Mike Cannon comments, “We are excited to be back at AIME 2014 to showcase Sarawak’s unique features and heritage that will hopefully entice more meeting planners to take notice of, and bring more events to Sarawak”.

Business Development Manager, Anedia Kahar comments, “The Tribal Quest package showcases the best of Sarawak, mixing the elements of business with adventure. We are also promoting our Tribal Wisdom Speaker programme as an added-value feature for business events in Sarawak.”

The Tribal Wisdom Speakers programme is a motivation session sponsored by the SCB, designed to promote meaningful business exchange, to engage with the local tribal communities and to experience how the speaker’stribal ancestry has influenced their success.

The team will also be conducting a research project on the Australian market during the trade show. Buyer delegates can participate and win unique prizes, and are invited to witness our friendly warrior who will be performing his daily ‘miring’ ritual at the Sarawak booth.

After AIME, the bureau will be in Sydney so as to tapinto its Australian network withthe illustriousDr Caroline Hong.The Tribal-themed event, whichwill take place at the Hilton Sydney, is designed to build rapport and networking opportunities with business event industry partners in Sydney. It will be a Sarawak cultural filled event of rich with culture exchange and experience.

Following AIME 2014 the SCB will be participating in various expos so as to continue its branding of Sarawak as a business events destination; for example at IMEX Frankfurt and IMEX America.
