Royal Cliff Hotels Group won the most Gold Medal in the Pattaya Food & Hoteliers Expo 2011

The Pattaya Food & Hoteliers Expo 11 (5th Edition) is Thailand’s biggest hospitality art competition & showcase. The event was held at the Pattaya Exhibition And Convention Hall (PEACH) for the third consecutive time.

This single event consisted of various activities for the hospitality industry and aimed to raise higher standards of service in skills such as cooking, food & beverage service, flower arrangement, housekeeping service and at the same time reflect directly and simultaneously to the local tourism industry development which will serve as a new added tourism service.

The 3 day-event also included a ‘Buyer & Seller’ meeting, as well as the ‘Exhibition Fair’ and the ‘Pattaya Hospitality Trade Expo 11’ which drew interested hoteliers, restaurateurs and food business entrepreneurs.

The energetic Royal Cliff Hotels Group team took part in nearly all different categories, competing against contenders from various hotels and resorts, restaurants and hospitality related industries.

It was indeed a remarkable achievement to witness the success of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group team scoring the highest overall point in the entire exposition as well as earning the highest number of Gold Medals.

The first day of competition saw the Royal Cliff Hotels Group’s Housekeeping Team, participated by Jaran Masod and Yom Yooyartmak sweeping the Gold Medal for the “Professional Floral Centerpiece Arrangement” imitating the rainmaker system initiated by His Majesty the King.  The Housekeeping Department went on to win several other competitions namely the ‘The Professional Enjoyable Bedmaking Competition’ participated by Nutthida Phathong, winning the expected Gold Medal;  and eventually thrilled all present during the awards ceremony by bagging the “Housekeeping Winner Cup 2011 (Competition for Top Scorers for Housekeeping Categories)”.

The hotel group’s Food & Beverage Team did not disappoint, as they too took home several Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. The highlight of the event has to go to the “Mekong Free-Style Pattaya Signature Drink Menu Search’11” where our flamboyant bartender from Breezeo – Be Yourself Dining, Akkarapong Yuwaphan ‘jingled and danced’ his way to the judges’ hearts and grabbed the Gold Medal. Akkarapong’s creation, appropriately named “Blue Kiss” stood out in taste and flair with a cut melon animating a big sexy mouth with a cherry as garnish! “Blue Kiss” is now recognized as the Signature Drink for Pattaya. This is a must try drink for those who visit The Royal Cliff.

The strong Kitchen Team demonstrated skill and passion to win more medals for the hotel group. Sureerat Yantaphan and Bumphen Kangrang both took the Gold Medals for “Free-style Fruit & Vegetable Carving Competition for Live Show” as well as the “Free-style Fruit & Vegetable Carving Showpiece Display Competition”. As for the “Free-style Plated Dessert Competition”, Chanyawan Timong and Sopapan Chaowna merged the winners and received the Gold Medal as well.

For “The Pattaya Gala Super Team Challenge 2011”, the hotel group’s team put on a spectacular display of fine cuisine and first-class service, showcasing an elegant repast of Thai intricate hospitality and the hotel group’s high service standards. They were handsomely rewarded with a first runner up prize for their outstanding presence of excellence service and attention to detail.

In recognition of this remarkable achievement, the Royal Cliff Hotels Group feted the participants to a ‘certificate presentation’ ceremony. The hotel group also presented participants with cash tokens to congratulate as well as to show appreciation for the hard work, commitment and passion each of the participants have rendered for the hotel’s group accomplishment with this outstanding success. In her speech, the Managing Director, Mrs. Panga Vathanakul congratulated the participants and encouraged the teams to do better next year and to never stop learning new skills to better ones’ self. She will also sponsor the gold medal winners to compete at international levels.
